click to enlarge Why use it? By guaranteeing perfectly mounted scope rings, the Scope Alignment Tool protects the valuable scope and ensures dead-on alignment with the bore of the barrel. When incorrectly aligned scope rings clamp down on a scope, obtaining a zero becomes a problem. They force the shooter to crank the knobs far away from the lens' optimum center point, lowering the accuracy of the scope. Bending the scope is also a probability when using poorly aligned rings.
